ESA O/W Instructor certification represents the first instructor’s degree inside ESA educational system. This license indicates a diver who completed all recreational diving education, attended an ESA Diveleader course or another recognized diving organization equivalent rating and finally succeeded an ESA IC (Instructor Course) and an ESA IE (Instructor Evaluation).
ESA O/W Instructors are authorized to promote, conduct and require license ratification concerning ESA programs and courses, from beginners' level up to Prevention & Rescue Diver.
To accomplish his duties and take on the related responsibilities, as ESA O/W Instructor has to submit the ESA Professional Agreement and get a professional liability insurance.
Prerequisites to enroll ESA O/W Instructor course: Be at least 18 years old Be certified as an ESA Diveleader (or equivalent rating) Have an ESA First aid certification (or equivalent rating) Have at least 100 dives logged and signed in a personal logbook Been a certified diver for at least 15 months. Hold a current medical certificate
Instructors from other recognized diving organizations are allowed to attend an ESA O/W Instructor course or to attend an ESA QP (Qualifying Program).
