This certification level indicates a person prepared to operate as ESA IC Director’s staff during the ESA Instructor Courses, with a wide level of experience in conducting ESA recreational Courses and Programs. This makes ESA Master Instructor very useful during Instructor training process, where he/her may offer effective suggestions coming from the work in the field.
ESA Master Instructor level represents the certification degree following ESA Prolevel Instructor. ESA Master Instructor does not require annual renewal: the Instructor will renew only the higher certification level.
Prerequisites to enroll an ESA Master Instructor program: Be an ESA Instructor from at least 2 years Be an ESA Prolevel Instructor Be a renewed ESA First Aid Instructor Hold the ESA Professional Active Status Be an ESA Specialty Instructor in minimum 5 different areas Have certified at least 180 ESA divers: 60 or more beyond the ESA Open Water Diver level and minim 20 as ESA Specialty Diver (distribute among the 5 or more Specialties possessed) Not having any QMP investigation in progress when presenting the program application Not having any QMP sanctions during the last year Hold a current medical certificate
Instructors coming from other Scuba Training Agencies, that already have an equivalent certification level, may obtain ESA Master Instructor License at the positive conclusion of the ESA IC/QP and the ESA IE (the certification date of the equivalent license must be antecedent of the ESA IE date).
