ESA Prevention & Rescue Diver course has been conceived to introduce and develop techniques and knowledge useful to prevent recreational diving accidents and to assist a diver in need. Through the study and the practical experience under the control of the ESA Instructor, the participants shall improve their attitude to safe diving and shall discover their abilities and limitations in order to provide assistance to a diver in need. The course requires the study of the ESA Prevention & Rescue Diver, the Instructor theory elaboration and the Open Water Training Sessions. The purpose of the course is to enable people to provide help beyond personal limits if a more qualify personnel is not available in the scene of a diving emergency and in the same (or better) environment conditions encountered during the educational phases. The course is related to serious arguments; however it is very important that the participant will work in a relaxed and positive environment. In this way people can learn better and may retain the information for a longer time, however you have to avoid exceeding in order to conserve the main value of the topics. Considering the minimum requirements that the participants must satisfy, the program has been conceived in order to support as much as possible the needs of the single person about time, learning strategies and possible remake of the instructive phases. This course has a very important role in diver’s development also because it will highlight personal attitude in working with others divers and the personal interest about ESA Professional Training Carrier (ESA Diveleader and ESA Instructor Courses).
Rules
Delimited Water Activities ESA Prevention & Rescue Diver course do not require performing exercises in pool or delimited water environment. However, the Instructor can organize and carry out specific delimited water training sessions in order to show the exercises and permit the student initial training. This approach is kindly suggested when the course is carry out too far from the open water sites or when the low temperatures do not allow to spend a lot of time in the water in order to repeat and repeat the exercises. However, even the students have positively executed the entire required exercises in delimited water environment; they must perform all the exercises and satisfy all the objectives also in Open Water, as outlined in this guide.
Pre-requirements Previous Certification: ESA Advanced Diver (or comparable) Number of performed and logged dives: 20 Minimum ages: 15 years old First Aid License
In order to obtain the ESA Prevention & Rescue Diver license, the participants have to prove the posses of an ESA First Aid license (or comparable) achieved in the previous 24 months. ESA First Aid course may be taught during the ESA Prevention & Rescue Diver Course; however the ESA First Aid course must finished before the ESA Prevention & Rescue Diver course ending date.
